Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Introduction
This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") applies to paid subscriptions and digital services offered by Xzect Labs Private Limited for News Studio. It supplements our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings in the Terms.
Billing practices are designed to meet payment gateway and card-network expectations, including clear auto-renewal disclosure, fraud monitoring, and chargeback cooperation.
2. Subscription Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance for the selected period (e.g., monthly or annual) unless stated otherwise. Fees are charged at checkout and on each renewal until cancelled. Plan limits, overages, and add-ons are described at purchase.
You authorize us and our payment partners to charge your selected payment method for recurring fees, applicable taxes, and approved add-ons. Failed payments may result in grace periods, suspension, or termination.
3. Auto-Renewal
Auto-renewal disclosure. Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, your Subscription will automatically renew for the same term at the then-current price (which may differ from your introductory rate). You will be charged on the renewal date using your stored payment method.
You may cancel auto-renewal at any time through account billing settings or by contacting contact@newsstudio.io. Cancellation stops future charges but does not automatically refund amounts already paid for the current period unless required by law or this Policy.
4. Payment Processors
Payments are processed by third-party gateways such as Razorpay and other providers we may enable. We do not control processor availability, decline codes, 3-D Secure flows, or settlement timing. Your use of payment services is subject to the processor's terms and privacy policy.
Billing descriptors, receipts, and invoices may reference Xzect Labs Private Limited or News Studio. Retain invoices for your records.
5. Taxes & Invoicing
Prices may exclude or include taxes depending on display at checkout. You are responsible for applicable GST, VAT, sales tax, withholding, or similar levies unless we are required to collect them. Provide valid tax IDs where requested for B2B invoicing.
Invoices are issued electronically to your account email or billing portal. Contact contact@newsstudio.io for invoice corrections within 30 days of issuance.
6. International Transactions
If you pay from outside India, your bank or card issuer may charge foreign transaction fees, currency conversion fees, or dynamic currency conversion. Displayed USD/INR amounts are informational; the charged amount may differ based on exchange rates at settlement.
You are responsible for compliance with local laws regarding cross-border digital services and tax reporting.
7. Refund Eligibility
Except where required by applicable consumer law or expressly stated below, fees are non-refundable once a billing period begins or digital services are made available.
We may, at our sole discretion, issue partial or full refunds for: duplicate charges, verified billing errors, prolonged Service unavailability attributable solely to us (not Third-Party Platforms), or other exceptional circumstances. Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the charge with supporting details to contact@newsstudio.io.
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within a reasonable period; processor and bank timelines vary (typically 5–15 business days).
8. Non-Refundable Items
- Subscription periods already started or consumed;
- AI credits, API usage, posts, or automation already executed;
- One-time setup, onboarding, or custom development fees unless agreed in writing;
- Third-party platform fees, ads spend, or pass-through costs;
- Accounts terminated for Terms or Platform Usage violations;
- Promotional or discounted plans where stated as non-refundable.
Downgrades take effect at the next renewal unless otherwise specified. We do not provide prorated refunds for unused time on upgrade/downgrade unless required by law.
9. Free Trials & Conversions
Free trials, if offered, convert to paid Subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled before conversion. We may require a valid payment method at trial start and charge automatically when the trial ends—this will be disclosed at signup.
Trial abuse (multiple accounts, false information) may result in immediate termination without refund.
10. Cancellation
You may cancel anytime via billing settings or email to contact@newsstudio.io. Upon cancellation, access continues until the end of the paid period unless we terminate earlier for cause. After expiry, features may be disabled and data subject to our Privacy Policy retention rules.
Export your content before cancellation; we are not obligated to maintain inactive accounts indefinitely.
11. Chargebacks & Fraud
Contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment reversal. Unauthorized chargebacks on valid charges may result in account suspension, collection efforts, and recovery of fees and costs permitted by law.
We monitor transactions for fraud. Suspected fraud may be reported to processors and authorities. Refunds for fraud are handled per investigation outcomes.
12. Billing Disputes
Billing disputes must be raised within 30 days of the charge. Provide invoice ID, date, and description. Our determination of billing records is presumptive absent manifest error.
Disputes do not relieve you of payment obligations during investigation unless we agree otherwise in writing.
13. Policy Changes
We may update this Policy. Continued Subscription after notice constitutes acceptance of changes to future billing. Material adverse changes may allow cancellation before renewal where required by law.
